Dear Friends and Family:
[Update, March 8, 2019: My new firm launches in downtown Seattle at the end of March. The firm will be busy representing amazing clients on Day 1, and it’s time to start the process for adding more team members. I’m hiring a paralegal and an associate. These are both full-time positions. If you want to join the team, shoot me a text to 206-747-6893 or email me at isaacinseattle@outlook.com. Please spread the word to great people who might be interested. The cut-off date is April 15, 2019. My original announcement letter, which appears below, tells what the firm’s vision and core values will be.]
Today, I delivered a letter letting my firm know that I am leaving.
Over the past 11 years, I had the honor of representing real people who were hurt by insurance companies’ bad-faith claims practices, experienced abuse or harassment in the workplace, or suffered serious injuries due the negligence of others. I appreciate the vast opportunity Keller Rohrback has provided and I am thankful to my colleagues for their many years of love and support. During this time, I published Washington’s Insurance Fair Conduct Act: Cases & Analysis, my book on insurance policyholder rights. I have had the privilege of serving as Co-Chair of the Seattle Community Police Commission and as President of the QLaw Foundation of Washington.
More important, I had my two children while a Partner at the firm.
I will be in professional transition for the next few months as I complete my tenure at KR and start up the next phase of my practice. Reflecting my core values of service, accountability, and reform, my practice will continue to focus on representing insurance policyholders, victims of harassment or other abuse, and people who have sustained major injuries from the negligence of others.
Another goal is to support the Spanish-speaking people in the State of Washington—to do what I can to make justice more accessible to a community that is often underserved.
Meanwhile, my work with the Community Police Commission and the QLaw Foundation will continue. I’m at work on a new book as well.
You might be wondering why I’ve chosen a corn plant as the background for this Letter. I’ve never forgotten where I came from. I started out working, with my family, in the fields of the Rio Grande Valley after school and on weekends. I know what it’s like to work hard and what it’s like to claw your way up in life. I know what it’s like when you need a helping hand, and God knows a lot of people have helped me along the way. I carry the values of discipline and diligence with me every hour of every day. I am determined to make all of you proud.
I am excited to share more about what’s in store for the future! Reach out if you’d like to get updates about my next steps or come back here to see the progress as it happens.
If you’d like to reach me, please call (206-747-6893) or email (isaacinseattle@outlook.com). I am excited to hear from you!
Very truly yours,
Isaac
